Quantity Surveying Department:

The Consultancy services offered include:

• Preparation of preliminary cost advice of the project
• Preparation of detailed cost plans and cost checks

• Technical auditing of architectural and structural engineering drawings
• Preparation of bills of quantities and other tender documents
• Pricing bills of quantities

• Negotiations with Contractors and Sub-Contractors to meet the Employer’s budget
• Preparation of bills of reduction when tenders exceed the budget
• Tender evaluation and recommendation of the suitable contractor
• Preparation of cash flow projections
• Valuation of work in progress for interim certificates
• Preparation of accounts of variations
• Ascertainment of direct loss and/or expenses
• Assessment of delays for extension of time
• Preparation of financial statements to enhance cost control

The department offered consultancy services in many projects countrywide ranging in value from a few millions to billions of Tanzania shillings. The projects have been in the following categories:

In undertaking the consultancy projects, the department has worked jointly with other departments in-house, with a number of international consulting firms and local consultants in various field.
